On Monday morning, October 17, a construction worker was killed in a work related accident in Jefferson City.
According to Cole County sheriff’s deputies the accident happened just before 10.30 a.m. in the 7000 block of Heritage Highway near Route D and Highway 54 in Cole County.
The victim was 28 year old Korey Licklider of Steelville and it appears that the accident involved a concrete pump truck. According to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, OSHA he was struck by a device called an outrigger that is used to stabilize the truck.
Licklider was employed by Booker Foundation and Flatwork LLC and was killed at the 7723 Heritage Hwy site where a new Dollar General store is being built.
OSHA and the Cole County Sheriff’s Office are still investigating the death.
